Cannon Power Group Statement on Mexican President Signing Landmark Energy Reform into Law

San Diego, Calif. – Cannon Power Group president and managing director Gary Hardke issued the following statement today in response to Mexico’s President Enrique Pena Nieto who signed a package of laws bringing   comprehensive energy reform to the county, expected to generate billions of dollars to help boost the economy.

“We commend Mexico policy-makers for passing this historic comprehensive energy reform. While it will take time for the restructured electricity market to take shape in response to today’s policy victory, we expect it will help entice the development of renewable energy projects across the country, particularly for ‘first-mover’ wind project developers working in Mexico such as Mexico Power Group who had the foresight to anticipate this dramatic change.”

Mexico Power Group, a subsidiary of Cannon Power Group, is developing a pipeline of wind projects in various states in Mexico totaling in excess of 1,500 MW, including the 180 MW La Bufa wind project in the State of Zacatecas expected to start construction in 2015.
